Wordless Wednesday: Palm Beach 70s Bedroom Makeover
Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 09:52PM We've had a bit of drama in the home renovations department (but these things *always* go so smoothly), resulting in the following:
- One insurance claim
- One large chunk of drywall replaced in master bedroom ceiling
- Two painting crews in said bedroom, one of which decided not to come back
- One missed celebration of National Margarita Day (as in painters saying they were going to show up at 8:30 and then not arrive until 5 p.m.)
But, one massive deductible and a few near breakdowns later, repair work to our bedroom is complete. And while the decorating isn't, here's a glimpse of the project.
The colors are inspired by the 2009 Coastal Living idea house master bedroom (November 2009):
I found this print in Z. Gallerie, greatly reduced from $200 to $59. It's going to go over the bed:
The bedding is by Jonathan Adler and is really the inspiration for the room. It makes me think of my home state of Florida (think: Palm Beach '70s vibe). With accents of tropical birds & flowers, it makes me think of home. And after more than five years in a cream colored box, I'm ready for that.
Accent colors: brown, orange, and some pink.
Clearly, all these shots are close because the room has much more to be done. But it's certainly better than the ugly seafoam green the painters adorned it with yesterday. (That is an entirely different blog post. We're talking essay ... )
